The good thing about community organizing is: its power is in the people. Therefore, the more people you have engaged in discussions about relevant topics or interests, the more power you have to instigate real-world results. Hence, if people are not exposed to certain interests or are neither involved with contemplating solutions thereunto, the likelihood of progressive thinking or new social developments is unlikely. However, wherever you can introduce new thinking to others, bring people together to engage in dialogue around a similar interest and turn discussion into real-world events and action plans, change is possible and – quite possibly – inevitable. Through power in numbers, perhaps, such persons, collectively, can also influence key decision-makers in their community. The greatest challenge of Community Organizing, however, even after people identify their own passion and people’s interests are known is: How do you bring people together?
